The Buckleys Podcast Review: Honest, Funny and Refreshingly Real
James and Clair Buckley are one of the funniest married couples in podcasting. Best known for At Home With The Buckleys Podcast, they combine humour, honesty and relatable stories about marriage, family life and the everyday situations that most couples experience.
Every episode covers a wide variety of topics, from parenting and relationships to awkward social encounters, and bizarre stories involving members of the public. Nothing is off limits, and that’s exactly what makes the podcast so entertaining.
James And Clair Buckley Are So Amusing
James and Clair have a natural chemistry that comes from years of marriage. They’re quick to tease each other, disagree over the smallest things and share embarrassing stories, whether they’re debating the quality of nightclub toilet paper or discussing the strange habits of men and women. Despite the constant banter, it’s obvious they genuinely adore each other. Their relationship feels like a comfortable, well-worn pair of slippers—familiar, affectionate and full of laughter.
Who is James Buckley?
Many people will recognise James Buckley from his role as the outrageous Jay in The Inbetweeners. By the way he has taken many other acting roles since. While the character was loud and overconfident, the real James couldn’t be more different. Through the podcast, listeners get to know his genuine personality: thoughtful, funny and self-deprecating.
Who is Clair Buckley?
Clair Buckley is much more than James’s wife. She is an entrepreneur, content creator and podcast host in her own right. Alongside The Buckleys Podcast, she has built a successful online presence focused on health, wellbeing and lifestyle content.
My Opinion of The Buckleys Podcast
As you’ve probably guessed, I’m a huge fan of The Buckleys Podcast. What sets it apart is how completely honest James and Clair are with each other and with their audience. They aren’t afraid to tell embarrassing stories if it gets a laugh.
One moment that perfectly sums up the podcast involved James describing the poor quality of toilet paper in a nightclub. He explained how it tore while he was using it, leading to the unfortunate moment where his fingers made contact with exactly what you’d expect. He joked that even after spending ten minutes washing his hands, he still couldn’t shake the smell. It’s crude, ridiculous and genuinely funny because it’s delivered with complete honesty.
That openness is what makes The Buckleys Podcast so enjoyable. James and Clair don’t pretend to have a perfect marriage or perfect lives. Instead, they embrace the awkward, embarrassing and hilarious moments that everyone experiences but few people are willing to admit.
If you’re looking for a comedy podcast that feels like spending an hour with two witty friends, The Buckleys Podcast is well worth listening to.
