Yes they were both real Americans by birth and are in fact one and the same. But as his life moved on the more humble, real person Terry, started to turn into Hulk. He experienced some incredible highs and dreadful lows.
Some of those were self-inflicted, but that does not mean he is a bad man. Humankind is more complex that. He did make some bad mistakes and he fully admits that.

Who Is Hulk Hogan And How Did He Become So Famous?
Hulk Hogan was the right wrestler at the right time in so many ways. He was there when cable TV started.
He became a movie star due to his appearance as ‘Thunderlips’ in Rocky 3. The company that had fired him swiftly rehired him, and as kids could watch wrestling on their TV each night, they loved him even when he was a heel.
For those who dont know in wrestling there are two types a ‘face’, goodie, and ‘heels’ baddies. The fact that he was being cheered despite being a baddie meant the public liked him.
Wrestlemania and why it made the Hulkster even bigger.
Also at the time the McMahons, who Hulk worked for did their first big event called Wrestlemania.
Wrestlemania was wrestlings first pay per view event, a huge gamble, at that time, that was shown in 200 Cinemas across the whole of the US. Viewers would see the grudge match between Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant.
It was a success, and Hulk Hogan was firmly established as a favourite as he beat Andre among those who watched it and those who weren’t fortunate enough to see it pretended that they had. The McMahons now controlled wrestling and the wholesome Terry/Hulk was the star.
I will leave the rest of the documentary for you to see his rise and fall and fall
Hulk Hogan how He Die?
He died of a heart attack
This was a wonderful coincidence purely for the sake of the documentary. Hogan died towards the end of the documentary, so it is a wonderful documentary of what happened to Hogan. An epitaph.
He did have some incredible highs and some ghastly lows. But the fact that he was able to put his side of the story, I think, is good. That does not mean I agree with everything he did
To paraphrase Frank Sinatra, ‘I did it my way’
