Lucan BBC i Player

For those who don’t know, Lord Lucan was a notorious compulsive gambling aristocrat who murdered his child’s nanny in the early seventies.
Neil Berriman, a builder, discovers after his adoptive parent’s death that Lord Lucan’s Nanny was, in fact, his biological mother that Lucan killed. He also learnt that Lord Lucan had never been brought to justice.
Lord Lucan’s crime is one of the most notorious crimes of the 20th Century. Also, the fact that he had never been caught after all these years inspired Berriman to hunt for Lucan on the basis that he may well be alive.
The premise of the documentary was that Lucan may still be alive and had been living his life as a fugitive. Berriman and a journalist, Glen Campbell, form a friendship and bond in their hunt for Lord Lucan, who had gone into hiding somewhere in the world.

Many sightings after his death had occurred, and this encouraged Berriman and Campbell to find the notorious Lord. Berriman wants to bring him to justice, while Campbell wants to get the greatest scoop ever.
What was Lucan like to watch?
It was gripping. Following Campbell and Berriman exploration of Africa and Australia to track the elusive Lucan was gripping.
For example, we would hear an interview with the notorious Lucan brother, who would say different things on and off screen. The brother said that Lucan had lived in Mozambique but had since died. However, he would not say that on camera. Another twist in the plot
(SPOILER ALERT) However, it was spoilt by the fact that you knew that the mission was probably going to end in failure because if Lord Lucan had been caught, then we would have known about it sooner as Lucan is so notorious. (SPOILER END)
That said it was a highly entertaining watch, and I would recommend it to anyone as it was a highly entertaining watch and is well worth the 3 hours of your time.
