The Feud can be seen On NetFlix and Channel 5 App
A couple, the Barnetts and their teenage daughter Beth, live on a nice suburban street in North London. They find their marriage in a mild rut and are on the verge of moving. Emma, the wife decides against moving away. Instead, Emma, and reluctantly John choose to do a kitchen extension to unite the family around a big project. This small moves causes temperatures to rise and start a Feud
Behind the picturesque street party, all is not well or normal, their is a Feud amongst everybody. This is where it begins. Things start to unfold over the 6-hour binge fest, and it all happens around a fortnight in ‘fiction time’.
This series is a grower, and many plots and subplots are going on. The catalyst for all of this is the building of a kitchen extension. This is not one of Emma Barnett, Jill Halfpenny , the lead character’s best ideas.
I do not want to reveal any of the plots or subplots. The ending was not a let down. When things eventually did come to a head, it was believable and was due to events that had happened earlier. It was also unpredictable enough to keep you guessing until the end, though. It’s suspense you could cut with a knife even before the end.
In The Feud , nothing can be taken for granted

Emma, Jill Halfpenny, and John, Rupert Penry-Jones are having a dinner party together with their best friends and neighbours, Alan and Sonia .
Is all as it seems? Nothing can be taken for granted. Are even the Barnett’s going to have The Feud with their best Neighbour
I will not mention any of the other Neighbors. They are relevant to the plot. I do not want to spoil the well-paced, well-written drama that does everything well. At times, I felt scared. At times, I felt gripped. All of it made me want to watch it more.
Jill Halfpenny And Rupert Penry Jones lead

Jill Halfpenny is Matriach Emma Barnett
Rupert Penry-Jones is the less productive John Barnett
Members of the Barnett Family
Emma Barnett, Jill Halfpenny, is undoubtedly the main character in the drama. She is the matriarch of her house. Everything that happens is an action or a reaction to her or her actions
John Barnett, Rupert Penry-Jones, is Emma’s husband. He wanted to move away, but as he is slightly weak, he concedes to his wife’s idea. His fecklessness causes many problems for Emma, including new issues arising from old ones.
Beth Barnett: She gives the impression of being inconspicuous. Beth does lead her own teenage life away from the family politics. However, she plays a role in the story related to the events both Barnett parents have ultimately created.
Too Many Famous Faces Overall in The Feud
The only thing about this is that it has a lot of famous faces in the drama. For example, Emma. Jill Halfpenny herself has had lots of exposure on television. Her experience goes all the way back to Byker Grove in the 90s and has also been in many soaps. This is probably what makes it noticeable as a Channel 5-made drama rather than a Netflix production.
Also, the builder Lee bears a striking resemblance to Peter Barlow of Coronation Street. If it had been poorly directed, the mass of famous people would have often spoiled it due to typecasting. Despite this, it makes the whole thing easier to read. If you see someone you recognise, it will be a given that they will be part of the story.
