What is Monk about?

Adrian Monk is a detective with various OCD symptoms who is undoubtedly brilliant but held back by the psychological problems he has in various ways. He can undo and solve the most complicated cases and solve them due to his OCD. It is a blessing for his police career but a curse socially.

How did Adrian Monk turn OCD?

His wife died in a car crash which triggered a breakdown and he had to leave the Police Force. The first episode of the first series opens is when he is just about rehabilitated enough to join the police force.

Monk is a troubled man. Does he have someone to help him function?

Sharona Fleming, his assistant and nurse, plays a crucial role in helping Monk function. Her ability to understand and follow his brilliant mind is a testament to her dedication and competence.

Is watching Monk like Colombo?

Though Colombo is far more socially capable, he is consistently underestimated by his suspects.

Monk is the same. His colleagues and suspects think he is the same. His fellow detectives see him as a madman and write him off. Like Colombo, he always gets to the bottom of things.

Should you watch Monk?

Definitely! Though it is fiction, obviously, it is fun watching a brilliant mind undercover a watertight alibi.
