What is Shagged Married Annoyed about?
Just before the start of Covid, rising solo comedian Chris Ramsey experienced an unexpected rise in his profile. It exceeded his wildest dreams. It was all unplanned, though. He was ambitious. While he conducted a ‘Facebook Live’ session, an unplanned star partnership emerged from this show.
Enter Rosie
Whilst he did the show, his wife Rosie was heckling him in the background. A golden comedy partnership occurred. The audience suggested that they should do a podcast together, and that is what they did.
Shagged Married Annoyed was its name. It got its name because Chris and Rosie first met each other due to a one night stand. They discovered they got on well.
Chris and Rosie Ramsey are brilliant together. Chris is slightly manic, while Rosie is a calming influence. But she is slightly disorganised, and Chris helps Rosie keep things in order. Also, Chris does his part in looking after the kids as he works from home. They make a good team.
Contents Of The Show
They discuss everything, and they are not insensitive to discussing filth. They also discuss their own thoughts on married life and bringing up their Children as they approach their 40s.
Each week, they have weekly slots throughout the show. Some come, some go. The most popular one is called ‘What’s your beef?’ Chris and Rosie mention the grudges they have built up against each other over the week here. They will then share it with the viewers. They both take their beefs in good spirit. These beefs are generally accepted with good grace. Marriage is not always perfect; there will be occasions when one will annoy the other.
Also they are always mentioning the real issues do not reach the podcast. They do have a private life.
They also have various other games that come and go such as Rosie’s mysteries. Another one worth mentioning is the long living ‘Questions From The Public’. Questions from the public is a segment where a listener sends an email. In the email, they describe the worst or strangest sexual experience they have had in their life.
It is always amusing to see Chris get annoyed and judgmental, whereas Rosie gently calms down. Chris does openly admit that he puts this on as an act, though. Do some of his more weird one deserve his judgment?
The Chris And Rosie Ramsey Show
They did have ‘The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show’ on the BBC for 2 series. However, there is no impetus for a 3rd series at the moment. It was very similar to the podcast but they would interview celebrities and encourage audience participation. It did not go as far as the Podcast though.
Though I am not up to date with all things Ramsey at the moment, they have done a lot. They have published a children’s book, and both have appeared and done well on Taskmaster. They have a lot of sidehustles, do the Ramseys
It has been going since 2019, long may it continue.
