I have just watched 5 episodes of Gilmore Girls in the first season and here is my review.
What is it about?

The entire concept of Gilmore is centred on the relationship between Lorelei Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, whose name is also Lorelei. Still, for ease, she is referred to as Rory. They have a powerful and beautiful bond, and they seem to be able to communicate with each other about everything life throws their way.
Lorelei is the manager of a large hotel, while Rory is an academically brilliant girl who aspires to attend Harvard, a prestigious Ivy League university. To nurture her intelligence, she goes to a highly prestigious school, Chilton School, where the academic standards are high, as she has outgrown her local school. She still has friendships from her old school, though.
As Chilton School has fees that Lorelei cannot afford, she has had to ask her overbearing mother and father, whom Lorelei had cut herself off from until now, to let Rory attend Chilton. They will pay Rory’s fees so they can see Rory and Lorelei.
As the episodes progress, the mother’s nature becomes increasingly apparent, and at times, she upsets both of them.
What do I think?
I love it. It is wonderful. I’m unsure if I can work through all 22 episodes of each of the seven seasons. In life, people change, and situations change.
The characters and situations of both Rory and Lorelei do evolve. I know this through googling. Many British programs are set in the present, and things rarely change. American TV is much more flexible than that, and that’s what makes it superior in many respects.
Will you like it?
I do think it is ‘chick TV’, more for women than men. That is not a bad thing, as men have plenty of things to keep the male species engrossed. However, if you have a wife or partner who wants to watch it, then you won’t get bored, as it’s a good show.
If you are a binger by nature. I am too old to sit on a sofa and watch 20 episodes of something in one sitting.
Additionally, huge binge-watching sessions are less common since we are no longer in lockdown. Today’s youth have generally managed to work through the entire back catalogue of the sitcom, though Friends, so Gilmore Girls shouldn’t be too much of a challenge.
Finally, all the characters are likeable or relatable, which is essential.
