What Is Toxic Town About
In the 1990s, the steel mills of Corby were disbanded. They were destroyed carelessly to get the job done quickly, ignoring health and safety.
They built housing and recreational facilities above the industrial wasteland where the mills were. This hurried approach would cause real human tragedy.
Some of Corby’s babies were born with deformed limbs. The local council denied any responsibility for this environmental damage, but the mothers disagreed. A unofficial union of women fighting for justice was formed
This is the story of the Mothers and children and what happened in their battle, with a council attempting to save face.

Is Toxic Town Worth Watching?
What did I make of it? Well, it does do a bit of a ‘Columbo’. Columbo was a detective series for youngsters from the 1970s to the early 90s. In the beginning, it would show the murderer doing a dastardly deed, and the show’s joy was watching the story unfold
Instead of a murder which the Lieutenant would solve, we would see the cause of the sick babies. The main pleasure of the story is in the mothers fight for justice.
The show was worth watching. It was a bit of a slow-mover, but I was hooked by the end of Episode 2.
Ultimately, I found myself glad that I watched until the end. Also, there were only four episodes, which I think is a good number. I am not a child of the ‘Binge-Watch’ generation; six is my limit.
The fact that I watched it all 4 episodes in one sitting is high praise for me.
Finally, the more curious of you asked:
What Accent Does Jodie Whittaker Have In Toxic Town?
She has a kind of Scottish/Corby accent. When Corby initially formed Steel works it attracted a lot of Scots to Corby.
Even though she only moved to Corby when she was 3, the old country still influenced her speech.
